francisco and seattle with rain. by monday, the west coast clears out. but here's the little interesting nugget that could happen. on monday, watch what happens here in the gulf. moisture comes up from the gulf, an area of low pressure develops. this is the deep south. birmingham to new orleans to atlanta, could be a wet christmas. rain, not a white one. then we could see this area of low pressure develop, and it's from tuesday to thursday in the mid-atlantic and northeast, we could be looking at another storm. we'll have to keep our eyes on that model. forecast, though, for today, pretty blustery. watching us from the northeast, new york city could see a few snow showers coming down. but the winds are pretty strong. so it's pretty chilly. so some snow in western great lakes. of course, we're seeing that, the lake-effect snow guns firing off. another wet day on the west coast, randi, from seattle to san francisco. another tough travel day there. but this is the end of the line. things begin to clear out. the balance of the country is cold and driempt ay. and the eastern section is windy.

. fortunately we have relatively quiet weather through parts of california and portions of seattle. showers across the portions of the pacific northwest. as we head into tomorrow and wednesday we have a new storm system that will be arriving producing a lot of heavy rain, three to six inches. the ground is saturated from the last series of storm systems. this could pose big issues across the areas already hit very hard with all this rain. look at the future radar as we head into tuesday and wednesday more rain. basically the northern parts of the rockies we have snowfall. we'll see snowfall across portions of the west coast but even into the northern rockies. dealing with more moisture across portions of west coast even though we dealt with a number of storm systems. jon, very quickly another big story how incredibly warm it has been across the center of the country. 70 degrees for high temperatures in kansas city and 80 in the city of dallas. jon: wow. >> possibly record-setting temperatures. jon: december surprise. maria molina thank you. >> thanks. jenna: you might expect this next story

, there are already rumors now that amazon is setting up shop in seattle. so unconfirmed but lots of folks saying they're looking to make that move. what they are doing, amazon has the amazon locker. so if you're going to staples or radio shack, you might start seeing these giant lockers that say amazon locker. it allows people if they get something at home at amazon, they can pick it up, they get a confirmation e-mail, a number they type in and they'll get their object there. we're seeing that happen quite a bit. google just yesterday, they bought amazon's competitor, so you know, it's called bufferbot. and they bought this company, and they're looking to delve into this online/offline e-commerce base. >> are we going to be seeing more online stores going offline? is it that people want to try on things, hold things? because sometimes when i buy things online, then i have to return them which makes it a whole new step. if i can try something on, i'll know right away, for example. >> sure, that's why i think the lines blur. they'll send you five glasses so you pick out a line, and you can try them on

seattle there are concerns about more mudslides. meteorologist karen maginnis joins us live from atlanta with the latest. they cannot get a break. >> they really can't, and for some folks, this is not coming as good news because it looks like that pineapple express, that moisture coming from deep within the pacific, that's going to be shut off, but we've still got the moisture coming in from the gulf of alaska and that's going to lower the snow levels across the cascades and the olympics down to around 2,000 feet or so. it has been hovering around 3,000 or 4,000 feet. we've got additional snowfall here but also the rain moves in. take a look at video that we have from our cnn affiliate, komo, and a house has been steadily sliding down a hill. this is in the vicinity of everette, washington, and they say that this has been going on for quite some time. so every time it rains, not just this one house, but a number of homes in this particular neighborhood, they say every time it rains it just kind of undermines the footings on the homes there and they tend to slip down even more. we've seen
